All of us have been drawing in our life, it might have probably started right from the time when we were ready to pick up a pencil or a pen or a crayon. Happy childhood days are filled with drawing and coloring pictures with no worry at all. Then once in school or college, we might have drawn for our assignments. Then probably we might have stopped or moved to computer based drawings. It is actually relatively easy to even make a career out of drawing if one is willing to learn and explore. It is not easy but not too difficult either with the power of the internet and latest applications to our aid.
The Beginning Phase:
- To begin all one needs is the motivation and will power to draw and draw well. In fact, if one can make it as a hobby and a destination to make a living out of digital drawing then it really helps. It can act as a great mood booster and people who like to occupy themselves with something constructive are sure to be benefitted by this.
- The next most important thing is an investment, one need not spend a lot but still, one can buy a simple table for drawing, or can use their own laptop if it has good enough capacity. The next item to buy is one of the software like Adobe Photoshop. There are also other drawing programs that are available but feature set may be less.
- The next step is to search the internet on how to draw and learn the various shortcuts and enormous features that exist. There are many freely available tutorials for one to learn and practice. There are also physical books available that should be read cover to cover.
- The next step is to jump in; there is no point sitting on the fence for long, try your hand. Don’t just draw aimlessly, use the tutorials, go step by step and follow instructions properly. At first, it may not be good, have patience and don’t give up. This is where the motivation mentioned in the first point really helps.
